Marion Knott Studios

Dodge College of Film and Media Arts is located in the new Marion Knott Studios two blocks west of Chapman University. Opening its doors to the students, faculty, and staff for the first time in August 2006, the dream first realized by Dean Bob Bassett of a new film school modeled on a working studio has now become a place for students to come, learn, and grow as storytellers.

The impressive 76,000-square-foot-building is a one-stop shop for Dodge College students providing them with state-of-the-art classrooms, sound stages, insert stages for cinematography and television/broadcast journalism, a Foley stage, Dolby surround mixing, and a motion capture stage. Dedicated spaces for production management and viewing facilitate both pre- and post-production activities.

Graduate and undergraduate students in all disciplines in Dodge College enjoy the graphics and digital post-production labs and the seminar classrooms. The production facilities, including 36 digital editing suites, will enable you to realize your filmmaking dream.

An important part of your education will also take place when our Hollywood guests come to interact with students and screen their work in the 500-seat Folino Family Cinema, which includes both digital and 35mm projection.
