Undergraduate Admissions

Procedure for applying

The procedure for applying involves a lot of preparation on the part of the applicant to first gather all the necessary information, then to gather all the necessary documents required for applying.

Students interested in our undergraduate programs need to begin by filling out both the Chapman University general application and the supplemental application for Dodge College. The Chapman University application contains instructions regarding test scores, transcripts, financial aid forms, letters of recommendations, and the application fee. For more information on this, please review the Chapman University application or contact the Office of Admissions.

The supplemental application is an addition to the general application asking applicants to complete two essays and a creative resume more specific to their area of study. Students may not apply for more than one major within Dodge College.

The applicant must submit all necessary requirements to Chapman University Office of Admissions (please do not address anything to Dodge College) by the appropriate deadline; applications do not have to arrive together.

Once all required documents are received, both the Chapman University Office of Admissions and the Dodge College Admissions Committee will begin to review the file. Dodge College may ask to conduct an interview or be sent pieces from a portfolio, but a student should not expect nor send anything to our offices without prior consent.

Applicants will be informed via mail when a decision has been reached. Students can be admitted, denied, or placed on a waiting list. The admitted students will be mailed out an admittance packet followed by a financial aid packet and later information specific to their major. Applicants offered a position on the waitlist will be asked to contact Chapman and confirm their desire to stay on the list. The waitlist is prioritized and if additional spaces in any program become available, students from the wait list with be contacted by Chapman and offered admission.
