*ENROLL NOW FOR THE CHAPMAN WEBISODE SUMMER CLASS:
July 13-Aug 22 FTV 329/529 Taught by Silvia Kratzer, Kratzer@chapman.edu (323) 828 1066
This is an exciting and innovative class designed to produce the second
and
third episode for the Chapman webisode with the working title “Behind the
Scenes at Chapman Film
School.”
We will follow teams of students shooting their student films and document
the various aspects (set design, camera work, location scouting, post-production,
etc.) that go into completing their projects. The webisode will showcase
the
amount of work, preparation, skill sets, teamwork, and learning that students
undergo. Some episodes can also document other creative aspects of
Dodge College as a dynamic,
cutting-edge film school. The goal is to record and bring across the creative
spirit at Chapman film school. The episode series establishes an overarching
atmosphere and first-hand experience of what it is like to be a film student
in the vein of a music video. In addition, the webisode will give informative
behind the scenes glimpses and insights into the work of film students and
of Dodge College.
The goal is to show the Webisode resulting from this class on the Chapman
website and possibly other websites and media platforms. The format is similar
to production diaries (e.g. Bryan’s Journal, King Kong Diaries)
and video blogging, interspersed with interviews, cameo appearances, humor,
and a voice–over narration by one or two hosts.
