The Fourth Kind directed by Chapman alum November 5
Chapman University is proud to present a sneak preview of Universal Pictures
new feature THE FOURTH KIND this Thursday, November 5, beginning at
8PM in the Folino Theater. The Fourth Kind is a provocative thriller
following psychologist Dr. Abigail Tyler (played by Milla Jovovich) as she
unwittingly
discovers some of the most disturbing evidence of alien abduction ever documented.
The film is co-written and directed by Chapman alum Olatunde Osunsanmi
(MFA/Film Prod. ’99) and co-written and produced by Terry Lee Robbins (MFA/Producing
’99). The screening is free but tickets are required. Students, faculty
and staff can pick up tickets starting today at 10AM from the front office
(room
309) or in Argyros Forum room 302. Only one ticket per person. No phone calls
to reserve tickets will be accepted. Any extra tickets will be made available
to alumni on Wednesday morning. Tickets must be picked up in person (cannot
reserve over the phone) and only one ticket per person will be permitted.
***Get Real World Experience working at a Film Festival
at Dodge:
Dodge College is hosting the Pusan West Film Festival November 20-22. There
will be 7 Korean directors screening their work and 12 exciting Korean films
being showcased. We are looking for volunteers who can help out all three days
from 10am to 10pm. Even if you can only work part of the days, we would love

Documentary scholarship program, now is your chance! The application period

graduate students are welcome to apply for this highly popular endeavor, now
in its 3rd year after successful trips to Cambodia and Cameroon. This year's
journey will take students on an all-expenses paid journey to Africa in the
first 2 weeks of June, 2010. Admitted students must take Documentary Pre-Production
in Spring 2010; Production is in Summer, and Post-Production takes place in
Fall 2010. Students will create short documentaries about NGOs (non-governmental
organizations) doing innovative and important work in the field, and then give
those films to the participating NGOs to use for their benefit as they wish.

We all know the great stories students have to tell from their study abroad
experiences. With the 2009 Student Diplomat Video Contest, students across the
country have a chance to become the next Student Diplomat—and win $300—just
by sharing a story about their time abroad. The contest is open to U.S. undergraduate

Creative Lab challenges the next generation of filmmaking talent to make a
film with the Vado HD Pocket Cam to win cash, prizes and industry internships.

you must sign up to enter the contest and receive exclusive contest updates

creative format but must be shot exclusively on the Vado HD Pocket Cam and be

The 2010 SW/TX PCA/ACA Conference will be held in Albuquerque, New
Mexico at the Hyatt Regency downtown. Proposals are now being accepted
for review for the Film (General) Area. 20-minute presentations ranging from
critical essays to analyses employing recognized research methodologies are
sought. Deadline for submissions is December 15, 2009. Listed below are some
