Public Relations and Advertising Awards and Scholarships

Annual awards

Dodge College students celebrate their achievements at the annual student awards ceremony, the “Cecil Awards” in May.  Public Relations and advertising students are recognized for:

  • Public Relations Campaign of the Year: Given to the team that produces the most comprehensive, creative public relations campaign of the year.
  • Advertising Campaign of the Year: Recognizes the team that produces the most original, compelling and strategic advertising campaign of the year.
  • Best Entertainment Marketing Plan: Given to the most thorough and creative plan to promote a student film.
  • Best Commercial: Recognizes outstanding achievement in a commercial produced in class or independently.

Winners are chosen by a panel of faculty in the Dodge College.

PRSSA Gavotto Scholarship
:  Each year, the Orange County Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America gives a $1000 scholarship to an outstanding junior in public relations.  Applicants must be members of PRSSA.  For details, see
